Rainbow Kitchen Community Services is a Pittsburgh-based food pantry, meal provider, and case management service for homeless, low-income, or otherwise struggling families.

Nearly one in nine people in Pennsylvania are living in poverty. Entities like Rainbow Kitchen work with the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank to serve an individual community, and rely heavily on additional contributions and volunteers. Donations of food, cash, and time make a direct impact on families each day, and serve to fulfill a basic need that many take for granted.

It’s easy to make a difference through the DPS 4 Better initiative. Contribute by Friday, December 6, and your donation will serve a local family this holiday season.

      Bring in a non-perishable food item to stock Rainbow Kitchen’s pantry shelves. Think about what you love about a holiday meal, and help put that on someone else’s table.
      Toiletries are in short supply because when it comes to servicing the community, food comes first. Items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap, and deodorant are needed.
      Cash might be easiest for you, and the most valuable thing to give. Your dollars stretch even further at Rainbow Kitchen when used to purchase supplies from the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank.
